Mechanics' Meeting, 1831

Agreeably to public notice, a meeting of Mechanics of the town of Mansfield, was held at the house of John Wiler, on the evening of the 23d. inst., James M. Gilkison was called to the Chair, and N.B. Robinson appointed Secretary.  The objects of the meeting having been stated, the following resolution was adopted: 

Resolved, That one person for each branch of mechanics, in furtherance of the objects of this meeting.

Whereupon the following persons were appointed said committee, viz.:

Saddle & harness making ... Henry Grove House Carpenters ... Edward Landon
Blacksmithing ... Thomas Lofflan Shoemaking ... George Krouse
Wagon making ... Jacob K. Whisman Tailoring ... John G. Bloust

Resolved, That the foregoing committee meet at the house of Mr. John Wiler, on Saturday evening 1st. Oct.

Resolved, That the proceedings of this meeting be published.

On-motion, the meeting adjourned.
